Save these gentle giants who are often abused and neglected. Rescue elephants in distress and treat them when they are ill. Yes, even these magnificent beasts are subject to human cruelty and need the care of dedicated volunteers. You will get to know the herd and their communication and behaviour as you track them in the jungle and alert the project supervisors as to when they are sick or suffering. It is completely heartwarming to dedicate your time to this cause.

As you learn more about elephants your love and respect for them will grow. Their sense of family and community could certainly teach humans a thing or two. From an adventure aspect there is much do. There are majestic mountains that provide a playground for sports such as rock climbing, white water rafting, mountain biking and trekking.

If you are into experiencing new creeds and cultures then why not attend a cookery course or enjoy a play or two at the local theatre? For shoppers, the nearby markets have many different arts and crafts.
