Description:

As a basketball coach, your challenge will be to organise training sessions to develop both individuals and the team. The players are keen and often talented and coaching them can be loads of fun. You will have the opportunity to get involved in coaching all levels and ages, depending on your own ability. Both placements allow you to work with young and enthusiastic players where the emphasis is on having fun and developing strong friendships.


Basketball Coaching in Ghana

Volunteers work in cooperation with the Ghana Basketball Association, coaching school and league teams through fun and exciting training sessions. You will help to develop their technique and fitness, creating dedicated basketball players with the necessary skills to play competitively and with confidence. You will have the opportunity to access some of Ghana's finest athletes, possibly as high as national level, and take part in their coaching and training.


Basketball Coaching in South Africa

In South Africa you will work in the townships of Port Elizabeth in an effort to help Basketball South Africa develop the sport you are so passionate about. Your impact on basketball in South Africa can be considerable as you organise fun and challenging training sessions, as well as matches and tournaments. All of these will make a positive impact on your players' sporting and social development.
