Description:
Learn Spanish, get a TEFL qualification, learn about sustainable development and experience Mayan culture in and around Tulum on the beautiful Mayan Riviera in Mexico. The GVI TEFL qualification is specifically designed to teach indigenous communities. After comprehensive training, you will assist in creating and running programs to promote the concept of sustainable development, as well as increased awareness about the impact of tourism on Mayan culture and natural resources. You will also use your skills and knowledge to educate tourists and locals on Mayan culture and promote sustainable development. Activities include; English language lessons, providing information on the area’s natural resources and local flora and fauna, holding sustainable development seminars, and assisting in the creation of sustainable, locally run businesses. The Expedition runs in collaboration with GVI’s local partners: award winning Amigos de Sian Ka'an, CONANP, Casa de la Cultura Tulum, and the state university (UQROO).
