Description:

As a volunteer on this well-established research project with GVI you will help to revolutionise knowledge of the enigmatic pink river dolphin. There are 300 recognisable dolphins in the local population. You will spend your days on the water in small boats observing the dolphin’s behaviour. The project records new births and uses genetic research to find out who the father is. You will follow the development of each calf until it is weaned, through adolescence until it becomes a young adult. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the research team studying these rare creatures. You will live in a floating house in the magical environment of the flooded forest deep within the Brazilian Amazon.

Highlights
Experience the magic of the Amazon by living in a floating research centre, monitoring these wonderful species and being an active member of a recognised research team.
