Description:
Get involved with the introduction of Rhino into Uganda in the Ziwa Wildlife Sanctuary. Sadly the two species of Rhinos that once roamed the savannahs and woodlands of the country have been wiped out, this project is your opportunity to help bring them back. In conjunction with Rhino Fund Uganda, you will be directly involved in assisting the reintroduction of the Rhinos into the country. Activities include: community education and awareness activities, reserve management and construction and wildlife censuses. Full training will be given on arrival in all aspects of the project. During your stay you will learn a huge amount about Rhinos, and the wildlife of Africa. Among the other animal species present are bushbuck, duiker, Uganda kob, waterbuck, reedbuck; leopard, hippo, crocodile, vervet monkeys, bush pig, snakes and a vast variety of bird life. Volunteers will be staying in shared rooms in a house at the staff headquarters on the sanctuary.
