“As the night wore on we drove up onto the banks of one of the large dams within the reserve and saw one of the most amazing scenes! A Rhino bull had been killed earlier that day in a fight with another bull…the carcass had been left next to a watering hole to feed the scavengers. Within 20m of us were 2 huge male Lions, both filthy with Rhino flesh and both looking very, very full! As time wore on, a large group of Spotted Hyena walked next to the vehicle and we saw Buffalo come down to the water-hole to drink. Although we have many Buffalo at Molemane it was incredible to see a herd of well over a 100 all come out of the bush to drink right next to one of their main predators” Chris Harries, ACE Volunteer, on a night drive at Molemane Conservation Project
