Gap Year in Africa

Africa is the world's second-largest continent, after Asia. It is also the Worlds poorest continent according to the United Nations' Human Development Report in 2003. The report also stated that the poorest 25 nations in the world were all African. The real reasons for this are a matter of wide ranging debate featuring factors such as global trade, attitudes to debt, corruption and insufficient aid. Organizations such as Make Poverty History demand that more is done by Western Governments to alleviate this situation. There are many projects and programs that enable gap year takers to make a small difference in Africa, see the links below to find out more.
