There are recognised qualifications and courses on offer from a wide variety of training organisations that will suit budding ski and snowboarding instructors, or people who want to improve in their chosen sport. Courses run from 5 days for a basic qualification or a short period of intensive coaching, or up to 3 months for more comprehensive requirements and snowsports based gap years.

In a more and more competitive market a TEFL / TESOL qualification is becoming vital. The
standard full time Tefl or Celta certificate will usually require a course that lasts up to
a month. These intensive courses will give you everything you need in terms of classroom
management, grammar, phonetics, lesson planning etc.
Once you have your qualification, you can travel anywhere and put your new skills into
practice with a TEFL job.

Find a TEFL job for your gap year
Get a headstart when it comes to getting a job when you qualify, and gain some
valuable commercial work experience before or during your University course. Spend all or part of
your gap year working in industry in an undergraduate placement or internship.
Fixed term contracts are available from a few weeks
to 12 months.
Search for industrial placements and work experience
