Reasons to buy ISIC
ISIC is the only internationally accepted student ID and discount card. It gets you over
1,000 discounts in the UK and 37,000 discounts globally. ISIC offers great savings on

The ISIC Emergency Help line
In case of an emergency, you can call the ISIC Emergency Help Line free of charge and speak to an operator who will refer you to legal, medical or travel advisors, depending on your situation. They can locate your nearest embassy or refer you to qualified doctors. They can also send urgent messages to your family at home and help you replace lost or stolen travel documents.
Who can buy one?
- full time student (min of studying 15 hours/week, for 12 weeks of the year)
enrolled at an accredited institution and
matriculating towards a degree or diploma
- minimum age 12, no upper age limit
- Continuing education and language school students are not eligible
To buy an ISIC card, you'll need:
- Proof of your date of birth
- A student ID or a letter from your place of study confirming you're full-time
(12 weeks + ) or an Open University confirmation of registration for 60 points.
Gap year students
Students taking a gap year need to provide UCAS documentation to prove that you have a
confirmed study placement for the following year, plus proof of your date of birth.
You will be able to attach your
own photo (3.4cm high x 2.8cm wide) after you receive the card.
Tip
The sooner you buy your ISIC card, the longer it lasts. They are issues on an academic year cycle, so last from 1 Sep to 31 Dec the following year.
