Description

Qualifications: DELTA, Trinity Lic. Diploma in TESOL, MA in ELT or Applied Linguistics preferred

Minimum requirement: CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL with substantial experience

Main duties / responsibilities

  • To organise and manage the academic time table and course planning, including managing the Summer Study timetable, Art and Media & Film studies where applicable
  • To organise and manage testing, placement and student induction
  • To maximise use of all teaching materials provided, including interactive materials
  • To ensure that the educational and recreational side of the programme are integrated in liaison with the Activity Manager
  • To support and guide teachers through regular lesson observations, feedback and workshops
  • To maintain recommended staffing levels in liaison with Head Office
  • To teach when required to meet operational demands
  • To oversee and maintain educational administration including the completion of student questionnaire analysis
  • To oversee and maintain administration of Trinity exams (if applicable at your centre)
  • To deal with Agent enquiries on classes and levels in liaison with the Programme Manager
  • To establish a positive working environment with the teaching staff
  • To ensure high levels of student safety and welfare are maintained
  • To support other managers when required
  • To carry out 24hr emergency duty on a rota basis
  • To carry out residential duties, including meal, bedtime and night time supervision duties

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Diploma level qualified preferred (see above)
  • Ability to lead and inspire fellow teachers
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility

Ideally you will have:

  • Management experience in a Summer school
  • Minimum 2-3 years teaching experience
  • Experience of dealing with continuous enrolment
  • Experience of administering placement testing
  • Experience of supervising / working with minors

Remuneration depends on the size of the centre and the experience of the applicant

The post is residential (full board accommodation is included)

Your pay is broken down as Basic Pay + Holiday Pay which will be payable at the end of your employment.

Staff will accrue prorated annual holidays with pay at the rate of 5.6 weeks per annum. Unless there are special circumstances agreed during the interview, this holiday can only be taken at the end of the contract and staff will be paid for untaken holidays at the end of their employment.
