Our Medicine and Healthcare projects are available in many different countries accross Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Whether you are a pre-university student, a trained professional, or somewhere in-between, you will have a role to play in one of the many hospitals, clinics and centres that we work in worldwide. With opportunities to work in General Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Midwifery, Dentistry, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy- we have placements to suit people of all levels and experiences.
Whatever your area of specified interest may be, Projects Abroad offers you the chance to help in some of the poorest and under resourced medical institutions in the developing world. While doing this you will also gain invaluable work experience which will only enhance your own Medical knowledge.
Prior to your arrival you will be given all of the details of where you will be working and information about your role as a voluteer. On arrival you will be met at the airport by one of our friendly staff members who will then give you your full induction. You will be assigned your own supervisor who will be there to guide and help you along the way. They are always eager to teach as well as learn from our volunteers and building trust and a strong rapport with them will aid in enhancing your overall experience. Your role as a volunteer will vary depending on where you are placed and what areas you wish to work in, but you can be sure to have both a fascinating and rewarding experience. Any support you can offer will be needed and greatly appreciated and in turn, you will get an invaluable, direct insight into medical practices in the developing world from an entirely different perspective.
